Rome Film Festival

Accademia del Lusso is a guest at the Rome Film Festival with the experimental short film “Il giardino e lo specchio” ('The Garden and the Mirror'), a project conceived by the school and produced by Farm Studio Factory. The extraordinary actors are autistic children from the non-profit association Modelli si Nasce. The initiative is organised thanks to the support of the Lazio Region.

The project "The Garden and the Mirror" will be presented on Thursday 17 October at 18.45 at the Lazio Region's Spazio Lazio Terra di Cinema, AuditoriumArte - Audotorium Parco della Musica, Rome.

The short film was directed by Alberto Fabi, with a script by Paola Rotella, cinematography by Stefano De Pieri, music by Niccolò Neri, styling by Carolina Turra, and starring Chiara Cusano.

The creative idea: a story between dream and reality

“The Garden and the Mirror" is an experimental short film, a story in dreamlike images, based on a guitar arrangement of the famous piece "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" by Tchaikovsky. The film takes place in the fascinating setting of the Castello Theodoli in Sambuci, kindly provided by the Municipality. In the creative idea, indoor and outdoor scenes are mixed, they are non-places where the actors seem to appear and disappear as if by magic, in an atmosphere that is both dream and reality.

Photographic exhibition "Autistic City" also at the Film Festival

In addition to the screening of the short film 'The Garden and the Mirror', for the entire duration of the Rome Film Festival, the exhibition 'Autistic City - Exploring youth different minds unique world', conceived by Accademia del Lusso and Modelli si Nasce, will be on display in the Auditorium halls. With photographs by Marta Petrucci and inspired by Wes Anderson's imagery, this exhibition was already successfully presented at the Capitoline Museum of Palazzo Braschi last May,

Autism is not a barrier

The main objective of the project ‘The Garden and the Mirror’ is to present the autistic condition in a different way, beyond the usual places, thanks to the active participation of the boys and girls of Modelli si Nasce, the first and only association in Italy that prepares young autistic people to enter the world of fashion, advertising and visual arts as models.
